The Hamburg Area High School is a grade 9 through 12 building with a student population of approximately 825 students. The school provides a series of core and elective classes that are designed to ensure students meet the Pennsylvania Department of Education approved academic standards along with advanced, honors and Advanced Placement (AP) certified courses. Students are encouraged to participate in the Dual Enrollment program with Reading Area Community College (RACC) by taking pre-approved and certified college level classes from the honors and AP classes, or take RACC classes and receive credit toward their graduation from Hamburg Area High School. A student can earn up to 45 college credits from RACC by participating in this program.
Hamburg Area High School is a partner in the Berks Career and Technology Center program of study. Students attend both East and West Campus classes to learn the theory and develop specific skills of high-tech careers that will make them most marketable in the workforce of the future. Students are also encouraged to participate in the 29 clubs and 25 athletic teams and numerous musical programs and performance groups that make up the extra-curricular and co-curricular program. The clubs and athletics provide students with outstanding opportunities to apply their formal education, develop life-long leadership skills, and provide a service to the community.
