Geographical Area Located in northern Berks County, the Hamburg Area School District covers 103 square miles and is the largest, geographically, of the county’s 18 public school districts.
The District encompasses three boroughs (Hamburg, Strausstown, and Shoemakersville) and five townships (Perry, Windsor, Tilden, Upper Bern, and Upper Tulpehocken).
Interstate 78, from Harrisburg to Allentown, passes through the area and intersects with PA Route 61 connecting Pottsville and Reading. Philadelphia is 80 miles to the south; Harrisburg is 55 miles to the west.
