The industrial technology and engineering curriculum presents courses that develop higher order thinking skills and problem solving by practical applications.  Students are provided opportunities to develop hands-on skills in many different technical areas.  Technology education can make graduates more competitive in the job market.  These courses will aid students in achieving higher scores on placement entrance tests for post graduation schools.  Students who are not college-bound will find technology and engineering courses very helpful in developing basic skills needed for employment.  The skills and knowledge could lead to further study in many occupations and professions such as, engineering, building trades, sales, and education.  The activities within courses can provide wholesome changes and develop student interest in the man-made world, its materials, products and processes.  They can improve self-esteem and help develop a favorable attitude toward creative thinking.
