We are particularly proud of the growing technology that has recently been provided for the students of Hamburg Elementary. Computers are used as a supplemental part of the instructional program. During the 2003-04 school year, many computers in our computer lab were wired for Internet access and each classroom received one new computer and printer. Our teachers and students were very creative in developing exciting projects using the resources of the Internet.
A healthy relationship between community and school is a vital part of a successful educational program. The community and school work together to strengthen and compliment each other. Our community and parent involvement programs include an active and supportive PTO, a parent volunteer program, a partners in education program known as the Hamburg Area Education Foundation and an after school homework club sponsored by our teachers and guidance department.
The instructional staff is dedicated and committed to quality teaching. They are experienced and talented teachers with a large percentage of them holding graduate degrees. These professionals are assisted in their pursuit of excellence by a competent and creative support staff. Hamburg Elementary students consistently score above the state and national averages on achievement tests and the Pennsylvania State Assessment Tests, proving once again that this truly is a “great place to live and learn.”
