    Who am I?

Hello.  My name is George Phillips and I teach Ancient History in the Hamburg Area Middle School.  Prior to teaching history I was the Alternative Education teacher in the middle school. I have been with the district since 1997.

    What is my background?

Hamburg is my home.  Technically, I have been with the district since 1977; my first year in Kindergarten at Perry Elementary.  I graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1991 and was lucky enough to be accepted at Albright College.

While at Albright I earned an BA in History with a concentration in Secondary Education.  My senior year in college I was inducted into Phi Alpha Theta (Historical Honor Society). I also participated in varsity wrestling and intramural football.  In addition to my academic endeavors I worked part-time for United Parcel Service and the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (Conrad Weiser and Daniel Boone Homesteads).  My student teaching was done at Reading Northeast Middle School.

In 2003 I earned a MS degree in Educational Leadership through Wilkes University.  I constantly continue to take graduate courses and additional training to improve upon my teaching and classroom technique.
