Elementary Physical Education
with Mrs. Wolfinger
This is one of the fun places to be in our schools! We can learn so many new things while we move and make noise! Of course there is a time and a place for the movement and the noise. ...Along with all the active events in class, we spend time discussing the components and principles of movement, and how our bodies work. We develop communication and strategy skills while participating in group activities that promote teamwork. Problem solving, being creative, and exploring new avenues of movement are just a few of the other learning experiences the children receive while participating in Mrs. Wolfinger's classes.
About Mrs. Wolfinger
Elementary Physical Education Teacher
Tilden Elementary School
Mrs. Wolfinger began working for the Hamburg Area School District in January of 2000. She worked half- time for her first five years and joined the full-time staff in January 2005. Prior to her working for the school district she was a stay at home mother and worked part time at local dance studios and in a book store. When she was in 6th grade she decided to go to East Stroudsburg and become a Physical Education Teacher ...and that's exactly what she did.
Family is very important to Mrs. Wolfinger. She is married, has three children, three grandsons, and twin grandaughters. Many of her family members are teachers and everyone truly enjoys working with children.
When Mrs. Wolfinger is not teaching at school she keeps very busy spending time with her family, volunteering in a variety of church activities, and doing crafts, especially quilting.
In 2012, Mrs. Wolfinger and her mother, Shirley Santilli published a children's book, Trouble in Treeville. The book is a delightful story that was written in the 1960's about a community of birds trying to solve the mystery of how an extra egg ended up in Mrs.Hummingbird's nest. Mrs. Wolfinger helped to bring the story to life with her whimsical illustrations.
Mrs. Wolfinger believes that she has the best job in the school district and enjoys working with the students at Tilden very much! She feels that every child is special and has his or her own unique talents to be developed. Her classes are designed for everyone to have positive learning experiences while meeting challenges, developing a strong foundation of skills, trying new and unusual activities and even having fun! It is her goal to have all the students excited about being physically active in and out of school.
