VIRTUAL STUDENT SUPPORT PLATFORM:  (Schoology) I am currently working to create a virtual online chemistry course  as a  student support platform for my chemistry classes.   My goal is to give students a conceptual understanding of chemistry, with the philosophy that this understanding is the only thing that should be assessed to determine the degree to which the student was successful. For this reason, the grade for this course will come largely from classroom course assessments, quizzes, exams, assigned tasks, projects, and lab reports. The activities and lessons in the online course are being created to support the class assessments, as an additional learning tool. Students should make every attempt to attend class regularly, review material daily, and not make the mistake of skipping assignments such as homework problems and assigned reading with the belief that they can simply "catch up" online.

NOTE TO STUDENTS: The quote at the top of this home page will be changed periodically (no pun intended). Students can earn one extra credit point by bringing this change to my attention. The new quote, along with a few lines of related reflection must be typed and submitted within one school day of the posting. There is no limit to the number of quotes you may submit.

 SCHEDULE TUTORING TIME:  I am available for tutoring during period 8 and after school by appointment. Please see me before or after class to schedule a tutoring time.  Do not wait until it is too late. The longer you wait, the deeper the academic hole you're going to be in. Ask for help early and you may find that one 10-minute chat is all that is needed.
