As part of the PBIS program, PTO sponsored a BMX assembly for the third trimester reward. Nick and Brandon entertained us with bicycle tricks and jumps but also talked with the students about bike safety, perseverance and anti-bullying. Special shout-out to our 5th grade teachers for participating in the fun! 🚴

Today is a double celebration at Perry Elementary! 🌟

First, a massive Happy National School Lunch Heroes Day to our incredible cafeteria team: Mrs. Krick, Mrs. Dissinger, and Mrs. Schaeffer! We are so grateful for the care you put into every meal. You give our students the fuel they need to learn and grow, always served with a smile. Thank you for making our cafeteria such a welcoming place for the Perry Family! 🍎🥪

We are also proud to recognize our amazing leader, Mrs. Berger, for National School Principal’s Day! Mrs. Berger, thank you for being patient, caring, engaging, and dedicated. Yesterday we celebrated Administrative Professionals Day in our school. The Perry Family would like to thank Mrs. Sonday and Mrs. Bauer for everything they do each and every day….even in the summer….to keep our building running smoothly. Their dedication, organization, and kindness are appreciated and do not go unnoticed. They are the glue that holds Perry together and we couldn’t’ be more thankful for both of them!

Hamburg Area School District has received national recognition from @nammfoundation as a #BestCommunitiesforMusicEducation for 2026! This is the second consecutive year HASD has been recognized, and this honor reflects the dedication of our students, educators, administrators, and community. Special thanks to our amazing Music department consisting of Angela Dowd, Carey Freeman, Jessica Godek, Sara Jackson, Megan Kline, Lauren Marra, and Leslie Weaver!

🎉🎂Celebrating Perry students who have a March birthday!🥳🎈

As an extension of their 5 senses ELA unit, Kindergarten students enjoyed a hands-on Braille presentation that introduced them to a new way of reading and communicating. Through interactive activities, they learned how raised dots form letters and words, and even had the chance to feel and explore Braille themselves. The presentation helped build awareness, empathy, and curiosity about how people with visual impairments experience the world, making it a fun and meaningful learning opportunity for all.

Thank you to Mrs. Lash, Mrs. Kutzura, Mrs. Berger, and Miss Jackson for taking some time out of their day at the Middle School to present on the topic in such an engaging manner. Also, a special thank you to Lukas for reading a Braille story to the students and sharing about his experiences as a visually impaired student.

🎓 Opportunity is knocking for Hamburg students and teachers… will you answer it?
The Hamburg Area Education Foundation is now accepting applications for 2026 Opportunity Grants, and these grants are designed to help students and teachers turn great ideas into real experiences.
For students, this could mean attending a summer camp that sparks a new passion… or launching a community service project that makes a difference right here in Hamburg.
For teachers, HAEF is offering Teacher Opportunity Grants of up to $500 to support classroom programs that enhance learning. Funding can be used for materials, special projects, or educational activities that bring new ideas and experiences into the classroom.
Every year, these grants help students explore new interests and help teachers create memorable learning opportunities. Now it’s time for the next round of ideas.
📅 Application Deadline: April 10
Eligible applicants include:
• Hamburg Area School District students applying for Student Opportunity Grants or Student Community Service Grants
• Hamburg Area School District teachers applying for Teacher Opportunity Grants
Teachers should remember to submit the district grant form to their building principal for prior approval along with their HAEF application.
