Hello and welcome to 1st Grade at Tilden Elementary Center.  In my opinion, first grade is the best grade EVER! First grade students typically have a whole year of kindergarten under their belt, so we don't have to spend quite as much time teaching school expectations. Instead, we get to concentrate on learning to read, write, count, think, create, and wonder.  We have reading and math, and we also get to explore science, social studies, art, music, STEM, social and emotional skills, and a Growth Mindset.  I know you will be pleasantly surprised about all your child will learn and accomplish this year. I look forward to working together with you to make your child's 1st grade year a wonderful experience!
