Advanced Lessons:
Students who have already started playing a string instrument have been placed in lessons.
Beginning Lessons:
Students who are in their first year of learning a string instruments have been placed in lessons.
Orchestra:
Advanced Orchestra will begin in September and Beginning Orchestra will begin in Feburary.
Practice:
To get better at any skill, it helps to practice. The more you practice, the better chance you have of doing well on your instrument. Play for everyone: your mom, dad, siblings, cats, dogs, grandparents, aunts and uncles (stuffed animals too! They are great listeners).
Prepared and Present:
It is important to not only practice but bring your instrument, music/lesson book, and your agenda to class and orchestra. Your presence helps us to sound great!

Winter Concerts:
due to Covid-19, we will not be having in person concerts for December. Please stay tuned for virtual concerts.

High School Core - May 4, 2021
High School Ensembles - May 11. 2021
Perry/Tilden Elementary (band, orchestra, and Perry chorus) - May 13, 2021 at High School (Orchestra combined rehearsal Thursday, May 13 in the AM)
Hamburg Area Middle School - May 18, 2021 (Dress rehearsal 5/17/21)
due to Covid-19, no fieldtrips will be happening.
Keep practicing! Remember your instrument and music at each lesson and orchestra!

Reading Musical Foundation

Summer Lesson Information
Summer lessons are given to encourage practice and continued development on the student's instrument. Information is handed out to students in the spring.
Berks Summer String Institute:
Check out the website for more information www.berkstrings.org Great way to keep playing over the summer! The program is free to participate. The group meets over the summer on Tuesdays from 6:30 - 8:30 PM (time and day subject to change) at Governor Mifflin Intermediate school in Reading, PA. Mrs. Dowd is one of the directors at this summer event.
