My love of teaching began early as I volunteered as a Sunday School teacher and in my mother's 1st grade classroom during high school. I decided to pursue a teaching degree with a minor in reading at Shippensburg University. After graduating, I taught for 6 years at Brandywine Heights Area School District. While there, I worked towards a Masters in reading and became a Reading Specialist. After teaching language arts for 8 years at Hamburg Middle School, I have enjoyed returning to teaching elementary school students learn to read more successfully!
