Dear Parents,
Welcome to a new and exciting school year! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. As your child begins third grade at Perry Elementary School, let me take this opportunity to familiarize you with some important information to help get the year off to a great start!
We will operate on a five-day cycle. I will update this page later with specific days for each special.
Third grade will be switching rooms for most subjects this year. We will group the children by ability in math and language arts to best meet the academic needs of our individual students. Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Schneiderhan are the other two third grade teachers across the hall, and we will work together closely as a team.
We will be doing R.A.P. (Read Across Perry) again every day this year. Please be sure to send in at least one book with your child that he/she will have available for this daily silent reading time. In order to prevent the need to continually bring different books to school each day, chapter books are best, as long as they are on your child’s level for independent reading. The children will have time for silent reading each day and will sometimes be asked to read to themselves for a few minutes if they finish their work early.
My goal is to foster a positive atmosphere within my classroom by focusing on, and rewarding, good behavior. I will be in touch with you for any serious academic or behavioral concerns. Should there be any questions or concerns regarding behavior, discipline, or academic progress, please do not hesitate to reach out to me so that we can discuss your concerns. The more promptly an issue is addressed, the quicker we should be able to work together to find a solution. You may reach me by writing a quick note on your child’s assignment sheet, by telephone at (610) 562-2241 (ext. 5212), or via e-mail at jefbry@hasdhawks.org.
I will explain everything in more detail and answer any questions that you may have at Meet the Teacher Night. I look forward to a positive and productive year with your child.
Sincerely,
Mr. Jeff Bryan
