Attention all Perry families: The Hamburg Area Music Association has been accepted by Smile.Amazon.com as a non-profit organization eligible for fundraising. Simply go to smile.amazon.com, select Hamburg Area Music Association as your charity and shop as usual. HAMA will receive .5% of your purchase price as a donation each time you shop. The trick is remembering to use smile.amazon.com instead of their regular web address. HAMA has funded a number of opportunities for our Perry music students over the years. Welcome back to Perry Elementary! My name is Leslie Weaver and I am so happy to be teaching music in the Hamburg Area School District. After graduating from the Wilson School District I received my BS in Music Education and BA in Music Performance from Lebanon Valley College. I then taught instrumental music in the School District of Philadelphia for four years. I have been teaching General Music in the Hamburg Area School District since 2009. In December 2012, I completed my Master's Degree in Educational Development and Strategies at Wilkes University. I am also excited to share that I completed a Master's Degree in Music Education from Boston University in December 2015.
I teach vocal music to students in Grades K-5 at Perry and Life Skills Music at HAHS. Each year the students and I work together in order for the students to learn about different music concepts while also learning to appreciate music of different cultures and styles. Grades 3-5 also participate in an evening group performance for their family and friends.
