Folders

Students should bring home the folder that you send nightly.  This folder should have center clasps to hold some information that I will put in there during the first few weeks of school.  Please look at this folder daily.  Anything you need to send to me can be placed in here and I will send all the paper correspondence there as well.  Please remove the items marked "keep at home" nightly as this side of the folder tends to get a little full. 

School Supplies Needed for 2nd Grade

Headphones or earbuds 

A folder, as discussed above.  This folder should have center metal clasps to hold information.  This should not be a binder.  

A pencil case, soft or hard

Water Bottle - This can be a disposable bottle of water or a reusable bottle that students can bring home daily.  Water fountains are available in the building and the classroom.    

Recess

Recess is outside, weather permitting.  Please make sure to send students in clothing that will allow them to take part in outdoor times. 

Extra Clothing 

Typically, students find the classroom a little chilly, so it is always a good idea to have a hooded sweatshirt or sweater in the classroom as an option. 

Other Important Notes

If there is a change in your child's transportation routine, please send a note to school in your child's folder.

If your child is absent from school, an excuse card is available if you would like to send one.

To avoid mix-ups, please label the coats, backpacks, lunch boxes, etc. that your child brings to school. 

Birthday treats are always welcome and appreciated!  Please send me an email as soon as you know what is coming in so that I can plan accordingly.  At this time, we have 20 students in our class. 

Donations to the classroom are greatly appreciated.  The most common items needed are tissues, paper towels, dry erase markers, disinfecting wipes, pump soap, hand sanitizer, paper plates, plastic cups, plastic eating utensils.
