Welcome to 6th grade Language Arts and Social Studies!!!

I hope you are looking forward to a fun year in class! 

In language arts this year we will be using reading and writing to learn skills and strategies to be successful with a variety of text and writing according to the Pennsylvania Common Core Standards.

In social studies, we are going to be learning about a variety of different topics and doing projects that reinforce the material taught in class.  Some of the topics we will learn about this year include geography with a focus on latitude/longitude and the rotation/revolution of the Earth, as well as,learning about population, migration, culture, governments around the world, economic systems, and finally we will talk about natural resources and their importance to the world.
