7-R LIFE SCIENCE GRADING POLICY
2016 - 2017
HOMEWORK: Homework includes lab reports, current events, journals,
worksheets and questions. Students will be given time in class
to begin work and ask for help or clarification. I will grade
homework on content mastery.
TESTS: Will be worth 100 points and follow the completion of a chapter. It is the student’s responsibility to schedule a time with Mr. Krammes to make up this missed test.
QUIZZES: The point value will vary depending on the number of questions asked. Quizzes will occur regularly during a chapter. Students will be given two days to make up a missed quiz or a zero will be given for that grade.
LAB REPORTS: Following a lab, the point value will vary depending on the length of the lab. Each day late results in a reduction in the grade.
SPECIAL These may include collections, reports and presentations.
PROJECTS: Students will be given the point value when the project is assigned along with the due date and other special instructions.
NOTEBOOK: Random checks throughout a marking period. I will be asking to see certain papers that should be in your notebook. Any quiz, test, worksheet, lab, homework or notes that have been taken in class or given back to you are expected to be in your notebook.
TO CALCULATE YOUR GRADE IN LIFE SCIENCE I WILL ADD UP ALL OF
THE POINTS YOU HAVE EARNED DURING THE QUARTER. THIS NUMBER
WILL THEN BE DIVIDED BY THE NUMBER OF POINTS YOU COULD HAVE
EARNED. THIS WILL PRODUCE YOUR PERCENTAGE FOR THE
EXAMPLE: POINTS YOU EARNED – 869
POINTS POSSIBLE – 955
DIVIDE 869 BY 955 AND YOUR PERCENTAGE GRADE IS 91%
