The Hamburg Area School District provides a virtual learning environment for students in grades K-12. Each course is designed to provide a challenging, rigorous curriculum for students who demonstrate the characteristics of a successful digital learner. Families work closely with the school counselor and virtual learning facilitator to customize a program and insure a successful experience. Students can choose to receive all instruction in an online format or create a blended schedule with traditional and online courses.
Online courses may be considered due to a schedule conflict or when a student would like to participate in a course not offered in the High School Program of Studies. The Hamburg Area School District partners with Accelerate Education to provide virtual instruction to elementary students and sometimes middle school and high school students depending on the situation. Edgenuity/Imagine Learning offers middle school and high school students a variety of courses including electives, honors, AP, and world language. VHS Learning provides supplements to the high school program of studies with courses that are unique to the district.
All online courses follow a semester or full-year academic calendar. Enrollments are conducted prior to the start of each school year and prior to the start of the second semester in January. Any student or parent interested in enrolling in virtual learning courses should first contact the student's school counselor.
