• Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is a national program designed to provide students with the basics of engineering. Its courses also provide students with general problem-solving skills, which can be used in ANY career field.  Activities are hands-on and projects-based. Our Hamburg Area Technology Education teachers have received intensive instruction in the teaching and implementation of PLTW courses.

Our high school level PLTW course offerings include:  Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, Digital Electronics, and Civil Engineering & Architecture.  Introductory level classes are also provided at the middle school.

Many of our alumni who've taken PLTW courses have gone on to study engineering or architecture, and are now gainfully employed in their fields.  Still other alumni have found the groundwork provided in PLTW has enabled them to be outstanding problem-solvers in both non-technical and technical careers, including the skilled trades which are in high demand.
