  • Welcome to Mrs. Dommel's homepage!

It is a pleasure to be the art teacher at Hamburg Area High School. I have been teaching here since 2003. In 2002, I taught kindergarten through grade 8 in a private school setting. I earned my undergraduate degree in Art Education at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pa. I completed my graduate degree in Art Education at Kutztown University in Kutztown, Pa. In addition, I have recently completed 60 additional graduate credits in subjects relative to art,  education, and technology in order to contribute to my professional growth and enhance my knowledge base to help my students.

I have a strong passion for art making. My favorite mediums to explore include glass, clay, paint, and digital art. I have a love for lifelong learning. In recent years, I have taken a strong liking for technology. I enjoy implementing 21st century tools in the art curriculum.

I also believe strongly in character education.  I am an "artist teacher" in a sense and see my students as unique individuals themselves. I try to look for the most positive light in each student. I hope for my students to have positive experiences with creative exploration in the classroom.

On a personal note, I have two beautiful young children. I enjoy spending all of my free time with them. They are pure joy! I also enjoy yoga, being outside in nature, and healthy eating.
