Wellness - Hamburg Area High School

Hello. I am one of the three Wellness Instructors here at the high school and currently the Department Chair. I teach 9-12 Wellness, along with Advanced PE, Personal Fitness, and Strength & Conditioning. The Advanced PE class will allow students who excel in General PE to go to the next level and get hands-on experience with officiating, coaching, and peer teaching. Students in Advanced PE will also be exposed to various careers in sport. While the Personal Fitness and Strength classes are more individualized with personal workouts.

I love teaching Wellness. My open classroom allows me to get to know students on a different level than if I were teaching in a traditional classroom. Along with teaching individual and lifetime fitness/activities, I also enjoy being a mentor/positive role model.  I think it is very important to teach life skills, respect and values that will make students productive citizens when they graduate into the real world.  It is important to me that I have a positive impact on every student, every year.
