DRUG PROJECT / PEER TEACHING (25 PTS)
A. DRUG PROJECT REQUIREMENTS (15 Points)
Using GOOGLE DOCS, create a flyer for your assigned drug that will appeal to other teenagers and convey the negative aspects/effects of your drug. BE CREATIVE! Include an “eye-catching” design, slogan, pictures & color. The following information MUST be on your flyer:
1. Drug Name
2. Catchy Phrase/Slogan
3. Street Names
4. Negative Effects/Dangers to the body -- This is the main point!!! This info should stand out!!!
**This is a group effort. All group members must participate equally. This is part of your grade.**
B. PEER TEACHING REQUIREMENTS (10 Points)
Your group will present your flyer and all of the required information to the class. In addition to that, the following information must be presented in GOOGLE SLIDES:
1. Drug Name, Definition of Drug & Drug Category (i.e. stimulant, depressant, narcotic, etc.)
2. Street Names
3. Medical / Legal Uses (if any) -- If no legal uses, note that on the slide
4. Forms of the drug / How it is taken: pills, injections, smoked, snorted, etc.
5. Negative Effects/Dangers to the body
6. Share a personal story and the repercussions related to your drug OR find the story of a famous person who used this drug and the repercussions for that person (death, affected career, rehab, etc) – DOES NOT HAVE TO BE ON GOOGLE SLIDES, BUT YOU MUST SHARE A STORY
**Everyone in your group must speak during presentation. Make sure you are organized, prepared & speak effectively. This is part of your grade.**
C. GRADING RUBRIC
FLYER REQUIREMENTS (15 PTS):
1. Drug Name/Catch Phrase (2 PTS)
2. Street Names (1 PT)
3. Effects/Dangers to Body (2 PTS)
4. CREATIVITY / OVERALL EFFECTIVENESS OF FLYER (10 PTS)
PEER TEACHING/POWER POINT REQUIREMENTS (10 PTS):
1. Drug Name, Definition of Drug, and Drug Category (1 PT)
2. Street Names (1 PT)
3. Medical/Legal Uses(1 PT)
4. Forms of the drug/How it is taken (1 PT)
5. Negative Effects/Dangers to the body (1 PT)
6. Personal Story/Famous Person Story (1 PT)
7. Equal / Total Group Participation (1 PT)
8. Quality Presentation (organized, prepared, effective speaking) (3 PTS)
