Everyday Preventative Actions for Cold and Flu Season

Try to avoid close contact with sick people

If your child is ill, keep them home until the fever is gone for 24 hours without the use of medicine

While sick, limit your contact with other people

Cover your nose or mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze

Wash your hands often with soap and water

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth as germs spread this way

Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs
