About Mrs. King:

Hola!  My name is Mrs. King and I live in Hamburg.  I am the Spanish teacher here at Hamburg Area Middle School.

I graduated from Lebanon Valley College in 2009.  I am very excited to be starting a fifth year here at the middle school.  I previously taught in the Tilden Elementary Center and I was there for 5 years.  I will be starting a new adventure this school year.  Along with teaching Spanish in the middle school (8th grade only), I will be teaching three sections of Spanish 1 in the high school.  This school year will be my 10th year in the district.  I have a Bachelors of Arts degree in Spanish Education and a Program Specialist certificate for English as a Second Language.  While at Lebanon Valley College, I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to study abroad in Salamanca, Spain in 2007.  I was there for a four month program where I took courses in Spanish and lived with a host family.  I was able to travel to a lot of neat places in Spain, including Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Córdoba, Granada, and Valencia, and outside of Spain, including Rome, Florence, Paris, London, and Lisbon.  In 2011, I earned my Master's degree in Educational Development and Strategies through Wilkes University in May of 2012.  I was fortunate enough to return to Spain two times to tour some new places including Bilbao, San Sebastian, Montserrat and El Escorial. 

I am looking forward to another exciting year of language and culture!
